From Psychic Militancy to the Worldwide Family of Militant Women

Lara Sheehi, Arlene Eisen

PART I, Dialogue:(approx. ½ the time). From Brooklyn to Beirut; from the 1960’s to today; from liberatory psychoanalysis to organized anti-imperialist women’s struggles, this conversation between the speakers will share insights from our practice and writing. Our aim is to arm all of us for protracted struggle against both the psychological warfare and overt state repression waged by the genocidal Empire. PART II: Participatory Workshop (1/2 time). We’ll encourage further exploration and questions from the group by offering prompts such as: What work, psychic and strategic, might we need to sustain our spirit and capacity to struggle as the U.S. intensifies genocide and militarized and psychological warfare worldwide? Where do we get our inspiration? What specifically, can we learn from people, especially women, who have challenged Empire? What is the relationship between psychological warfare and fascist patriarchy? How do we organize resistance against the psychic and military machinery of Empire?
